It was Superman warmly welcoming Spiderman. The two superheroes of the swimming pool made their Olympic meet and greet in Athens on Sunday, not with a snarl and a glare, nor any pathetic psych-out tactic, but a handshake, which even extended to a hug between Pieter van den Hoogenband and Ian Thorpe.
