Swimming the English Channel, the Dover Museum's Online Exhibition

Captain Webb dived off the end of Admiralty Pier in Dover to start what became the first successful unaided English Channel swim. To mark the anniversary of this event, the Dover Museum presents an online history of English Channel Swimming, along with details of the museum's collection relating to swimming the English Channel.

Thant you very much. Have been trying to find out the history of what I think is my great-great grandad’s swim of the channel there and back in 1927 and 1934. Only site I could find that detailed the information which my daughter wanted for homework – thought the family was boring until I mentioned this fact. Thank you again
