There are many things that you can do to swim better. This to do list of 10 ways to swim better could help any swimmer improve in the water. Do:
  1. Swim frequently
  2. Swim with good technique
  3. Drills as part of every swimming workout
  4. Challenging workouts
  5. Easy workouts
  6. Streamlines
  7. Leave the wall the same way every time
  8. Wear a swimsuit made for competitive swimming
  9. Ask someone to watch you swim
  10. Use flippers occasionally

Any competitive swimmer knows this. Heck, even non-competitive swimmers know this, it is very basic info.

How often should one swim to improve – I do 4 swim squads a week ranging from 2.6km for an intensive workout to 4.2km for distance squad and I don’t feel much improvement – but I do get sore and tired so I know that the drills are doing something.
