Two World, One American Record Fall as Phelps, Hoff, Jensen Post Wins at 2008 Olympic Team Trials on First Day

Two world records and one American record fell at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials in Omaha, Neb. tonight as Michael Phelps, Katie Hoff and Larsen Jensen won their respective finals. By Olympic selection procedures, the first-place finishers in each of Sunday's finals automatically qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team. Phelps and Hoff lowered world marks in the men's and women's 400m IM and the American record in the men's 400m freestyle fell at the hands of Jensen.
