Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, Site of the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim

Saturday July 19, 2008
The Olympic 10K Marathon Swim will be held in the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, about 35km outside of Beijing. It is interesting to compare this open water swimming venue with the famous Water Cube of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the world's largest pool in Chile. (Image by BOCOG/Getty Images)

Hi Mat,

Thanks for the post. This is looking like an interesting facility as well, though it’s certainly not getting nearly as much attention in the media as some of the more central Olympic venues in Beijing.

More practically, I was wondering if anybody had information about how to get to Shunyi from central Beijing. If so, please post up!

Thanks,
OW
