June Quick’s rehab program for breaststroker’s knee contains WAY too much detailed information! It needs to be condensed into at most five easy to remember tips, e.g.: start from Rest Ice Compression and Elevation (RICE); “balance in all things”, in this case especially between strength and mobility (flexibility); etc.. Also, where is aqua-jogging in her Rehab program?!

Breaststroke and sore knees: (1) check your technique (2) consider long fins to find the best technique for you (3) do PNF (contract-relax) stretches in the shower after the workout, with foot pulled up into the buttock; also do heel cord PNF’s (4) get Merchant patellar views of knees along with exam at orthopaedic office.

I appreciate someone who takes the time to produce this much detailed info. But I would rather view a video of what we do wrong and how to correct. Also, the video should feature a good group of exercises to promote knee strength. Note- I did find one dvd at another site that showed simple exercises to prevent knee injury. If that’s all I can find I will buy that.
