The best words of advice for a swimmer and swimmer's ear is to stop it before it happens. If you are unsure, or are already suffering ear problems. best to see a doctor, but there are some self-care steps for swimmer's ear.

If you are not having problems, keep it that way! #1, be sure to dry your ears after you swim. #2, a drop or two of a mixture of 50% rubbing alcohol and 50% white vinegar, before and after you swim, can help dry the ear and restore the proper pH.

If you have already developed symptoms of an ear infection, have a history of ear ache problems, perforated eardrums, ear tubes, or other possible complications, consult a physician. If in doubt - consult a physician.
