Gary Mullen is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles about swimming and sports training for over three years. Mullen is a Masters World Record holder and a member of the advisory board for the International Society of Swim Coaches.

Mullen holds multiple degrees in physical therapy and health sciences. He is the founder of Swimming Science and the Swimming Science Research Review and is the swimming expert for both STACK Magazine and Sports Rehab Expert. Mullen works as a consultant for many sports teams, providing assistance with weight training and biomechanics.

Mullen is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and the owner of a training studio called COR in Santa Clara, California.

Education

Mullen holds a B.S. in health sciences from Purdue University and a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Southern California.
