When the professional swimming world arrives in Charlotte, NC for the 2009 Charlotte Ultra Swim Grand Prix Swim Meet on May 14th, they will be accompanied by the voice of American swimming, three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines. Gaines will provide color commentary for Universal Sports. He will call Michael Phelps' first race, the prelims of the 100-meter butterfly, as well as announce all final races Friday through Sunday.

Olympic Swimmer Aaron Peirsol, the winner of seven gold medals in swimming, is hosting the second annual "Aaron Peirsol's Race for the Oceans". This is an open-water swimming fundraiser, to be held at Fort Myers Beach in Fort Myers, Florida, October 10-11, 2009. Aaron Peirsol's Race for the Oceans raises funds and awareness for Oceana, a non-profit group established to protect and restore the world's oceans and for which Aaron Peirsol is a spokesperson.

USA Synchronized Swimming Team Tied For Fifth Following 2008 Olympic Team Tech
The USA Synchronized Swimming Team swam its way into a fifth place tie with Canada today during the 2008 Olympic team technical event. Both teams scored a 95.167 and will carry a 47.584 over into the team free competition which will make a splash on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
