Olympic Games Medalists - Swimming and Diving New
Swimming has been included in every Games. The 1896 events were held in open water in the Bay of Zea near Fáliron, whilst the 1900 events were swum with the current in the River Seine. The Butterfly stroke was permissible in Breaststroke events up to and including 1952. Between 1912 and 1928 diving events were decided by ordinals rather by points.
