Long, who didn't expect to drop so much time said: "I didn't feel great in the pool this morning. That shows I can go even faster. I really want to go 4:44 tonight."
So far during the Beijing Paralympic Games, Long has set three world records. In addition to today's race, she set the world records in the women's 200m IM (SM8) (2:41.85) and the women's 100m freestyle (S8) (1:06.81.)
Long will be competing for her sixth medal in tonight's finals, aiming to add to her current tally of three gold, one silver and one bronze in Beijing.
