Team USA Synchronized Swimming Floats in Fifth Place at Conclusion of Duet Tech
The duet of Christina Jones (Fremont, Calif.) and Andrea Nott (San Jose, Calif.) finished the technical portion of the duet competition in fifth place with a score of 95.500 today. Tuesday's action will feature the duet free routine which will be combined with fifty percent of today's score to determine the 12 finalists which will advance to the free routine finals, held on Wednesday.

Over 1,000 athletes will invade the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center on the campus of Binghamton University for the world's largest Synchronized Swimming Championships. The 2008 Esynchro Age Group National Championships will kick off June 28 and will run through July 5.

The US Synchronized Swimming Team swam its way into a fifth place tie with Japan with a score of 95.334 today. Russia was crowned the 2008 Olympic Champion with a near-perfect mark of 99.500. Spain earned the silver medal with a score of 98.251. China earned its first Olympic medal with a 97.334.

The reigning World and Olympic Champions, Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Ermakova took the top spot on the podium with a nearly flawless 99.833.

Russia Joins Team USA for Synchronized Swimming Demonstration
The 2008 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team will debut both its technical and free routines on June 21 at the annual Walnut Creek Night of Champions. For the first time ever, the Russian Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team will join Team USA in a pre-Olympic Games exhibition.
2008 Olympic Synchronized Swimming Competing Nations Announced
The final list of the eight teams and 24 duets qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games is now known after the Qualification Tournament held in Beijing from April 16-20, 2008. In the team event, the competition selected 3 nations, with the remaining five nations that will be at the 08 Games previously selected through continental competitions. In the duet, the qualification tournament allowed 15 duets to get their Olympic ‘ticket’, with 9 previously determined, for a total of 24 duets at the Games.

The team competition of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Olympic Games Synchronized Swimming Qualification Tournament concluded at the National Aquatic Center on Saturday, April 19. Spain claimed the team title with a score of 98.167 points, followed by Japan (96.501) and Canada (95.334). The top three teams at this tournament are the last three team to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Each team also gets a spot in the duet event.

Spain's Gemma Mengual and Andrea Fuentes won the first gold medal of the Olympic Games Synchronised Swimming Qualification Tournament 2008 with a world class Free routine during the duet final at the National Aquatics Center on Friday 18 April. Mengual and Fuentes for their explosive routine, giving them a combined score of 97.667 to leave early leaders Jiang Tingting and Jiang Wenwen (CHN) with the silver medal (96.083) and Japan's Saho Harada and Emiko Suzuki with the bronze (96.001).

The "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Olympic Games Synchronized Swimming Qualification Tournament starts April 16. Headed by many-time Olympic and world championships runners-up Japan, a number of strong teams will vie for Olympic spots during the five-day tournament. The Olympic synchronized swimming competition consists of two events, team and duet, with the participation of 8 teams in the team event and 24 pairs of swimmers in the duet event.
