Over 1,000 athletes will invade the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center on the campus of Binghamton University for the world's largest Synchronized Swimming Championships. The 2008 Esynchro Age Group National Championships will kick off June 28 and will run through July 5.

The competition will feature up-and-coming junior athletes along with several reigning age group national champions. Swimmers will compete for titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events in four age groups: 11-12, 13-15, 16-17 and 18-19.

In honor of the grassroots event, the 2008 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team will be making an appearance on July 1 to show off its anticipated Olympic Games routines. The demonstration will take place at approximately 8:00 p.m.

The Esynchro Age Group National Championships will include eight days of competition and will carry an estimated economic impact of more than $1.3 million. The event will be hosted by the New Canaan Aquianas.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate and will be $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens, students and children. Admission for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team demonstration will be included in the 13-15 age group finals tickets.
