UK Coach Certificate Course Content Announced by British Swimming
Syllabus details for the first two levels of the British Swimming UKCC coaching qualifications are now available to view online. Available from January 2007, the syllabuses for Level One coaching courses in swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming and diving and Level Two courses in swimming, water polo and diving provide an outline of course content and key learning outcomes.

2006 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships 5k Champions
Chip Peterson and Kirsten Groome swam to convincing victories in the 5K race Friday at the 2006 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. In the mens race, Peterson, of Carteret Currents proved to his competitors why he is considered one of the worlds foremost open water specialists. On the womens side, Kirsten Groome of North Baltimore Aquatic Club finished just ahead of Chloe Sutton of The Fish. (USA Swimming)
2008 Beijing Olympic Swimming Finals in the Morning Looks to be a Reality
A recent press release from the IOC, well in advance of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, combined with a press release from USA Swimming seem to confirm it. The swimming finals in the 2008 Olympics will be in the morning, something not too well received by many swimmers and coaches. USA television viewers will be happy, but will it provide the best possible swimming competition for the swimmers that have trained for years to reach the Beijing for the Olympic games?
Synchronized Swimming Names First 2008 U.S. Olympic Synchro Swim Team Members
United States Synchronized Swimming started its journey to Beijing on Sunday, December 10 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of the Ohio State University. The 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Synchronized Swimming were held, naming the first athletes to be nominated to the 2008 United States Olympic Team.
USA Swimming Names Coaching Staffs for Two International Swim Meets
USA Swimming has released the coaching staffs for two international swimming competitions in 2007. The events include the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the 2007 World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

Olympian Katie Hoff is the eighth swimmer to be awarded the United States Olympic Committee SportsWoman of the Year honor. She joins the list that includes swimmers like Shirley Babashoff, Kathy Heddy, Tracy Caulkins, Cynthia Woodhead, Janet Evans, Amy Van Dyken, and Jenny Thompson.
2006 Open Water Swimming National Championships
With their eyes set on the 2008 Olympic Games, some of the nations top distance and open water swimmers will compete at the 2006 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships, June 2-6 in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. 2004 Olympians Larsen Jensen and Kalyn Keller are scheduled to compete in the 10K event.
