Diver Thomas Finchum Named 2007 USA Diving Athlete of the Year

Thomas Finchum (Indianapolis, Ind.) was honored as USA Diving’s 2007 Athlete of the Year at the United States Aquatic Sports awards banquet Saturday night.

USA Divers Win Two More Medals on Last Day of 2007 Canada Diving Cup

Team USA Diver Thomas Finchum picked up his second silver medal of the 2007 Canada Cup, this time finishing second with partner David Boudia in the men’s 10-meter synchro event on Sunday. Chris Colwill also earned a spot on the medal stand for the U.S., taking bronze in the men’s 3-meter finals. Finchum (Indianapolis) and Boudia (Noblesville, Ind.), scored 398.64 points to pick up the silver behind China’s Huo Liang and Lin Yu, who won gold at 437.58.

SA Diver Finchum Wins Silver at 2007 Canada Diving Cup

Diver Thomas Finchum won a silver and Haley Ishimatsu and Mary Beth Dunnichay won a bronze at the Canada Diving Cup on Saturday 5 May. Finchum scored 528.75 points in the men’s 10-meter competition to win his first individual medal in international competition. Canada’s Alexandre Despatie took the gold with 529.10 points, and China’s Zhou Luxin took the bronze at 524.60 points. USA’s David Boudia scored 481.60 points for fifth.
