USA Divers Finish with Three Medals at 2007 World University Games Diving
Christina Loukas won a silver and bronze medal on the final day of competition at the World University Games in Bangkok today. Loukas first claimed the silver medal in the women’s 3m springboard and returned to the medal stand with synchro partner Amanda Miller as the duo won bronze in the women’s 3m synchro. The U.S. dive team finished the 2007 World University Games with three medals.

Six USA Divers Competed in Four Event Finals at The 2007 World University Games
The USA women’s 10m synchro dive team of Cassandra Cardinell and Heather Bounds posted Team USA’s highest finish of the day, taking fourth with a score of 306.30. Bounds and Cardinell made a strong case for bronze, nailing their final dive, a back 2 ½ somersault, 1 ½ twists pike for 74.46 points, placing them in third.

Christina Loukas will compete for a medal in the women’s 3m springboard finals at the 2007 World University Games, after finishing sixth in tonight’s semifinal. Loukas scored 313.80 points in the contest, which was interrupted by a brief power outage. Fellow U.S. semifinalist and a bronze medalist at these Games, Mary Yarrison finished 14th, and is a reserve for Saturday’s finals competition.

USA Diving and Florida State University sophomore Terry Horner finished seventh in the finals of the men’s 1m springboard at the 2007 World University Games in Bangkok today. The reigning NCAA champion scored 390.05 in the final session.
USA Diver Zach Schultz Advances to Final in Men’s 3m Springboard at 2007 WUG
Purdue University junior Zach Schultz advanced to the finals in the 3m springboard at the 2007 World University Games this afternoon, posting a score of 390.75 to finish 11th in the semifinals. Schultz executed a consistent program, will all six of his semifinal dives scoring between 60 and 70 points. His high score came with his fifth dive, a reverse 2 ½ somersault, 1 ½ twists pike, good for 70 points. Schultz will be diver number two in the finals competition.
Texas Diver Mary Yarrison Wins Bronze Medal in 1m Springboard at 2007 WUG
University of Texas senior Mary Yarrison claimed the first U.S. diving medal at the 2007 World University Games today, winning bronze in the women’s 1m springboard. Yarrison posted a score of 276.30 to reach the podium.
Diving Competition Kicks off at 2007 World University Games
Cassandra Cardinell and Jessica Livingston, became the first U.S. diving finalists at the 2007 World University Games in Bangkok today. Cardinell finished fifth in the semi-finals this afternoon while Livingston was 10th. The top 12 divers advance to Thursday's finals competition.
USA Diving's Kinzbach Moves to Finals in Men’s 10m at 07 World University Games
J.J. Kinzbach will compete in the finals of the men’s 10m platform diving competition on Saturday, August 18, after finishing today’s semi-final in third place with 457.6 points. In a field that included the Olympic champion in the event, China’s Jia Hu, Kinzbach secured his spot in the finals with an impressive semi-finals performance, averaging 76.28 points per dive. Kinzbach wowed the crowd on his third dive, a near-perfect back 3 ½ somersault tuck that earned him 89.1 points.
