Loukas strung together a consistent program in the semifinal, posting a low score of 55.80 and a high of 67.50. She earned the high score on her final dive of the night, a forward 2 ½ somersault, 1 twist pike that bumped her from seventh to sixth place in the last round.
A trio of Olympians claimed the top three spots in the semifinal. ChinasTing Li (359.45) was first, followed by Mexicos Paola Milagros Espinosa (341.70) and Laura Sanchez (339.70).
Sarah Chrzanowski (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Eastern Michigan) ranked 23rd with a score of 235.20 in the preliminaries earlier today and did not advance.
