USA Swimming's Jennings 6th in 10k At 2010 Open Water World Swim Champs

USA Swimming National Team member Christine Jennings (Longmont, Colo.) finished sixth in the 10K race at the FINA Open Water World Championships on Saturday. Jennings finished just .56 seconds behind winner Martina Grimaldi of Italy in the two-plus hour swim. It was the first World Championships appearance for the 23-year-old.

Sixteen-year-old USA Swimming National Team member Eva Fabian (Keene, NH) swam with the front pack through the first 7.5K, but was disqualified, after failing to go around the final buoy.

Second place went to Italian swimmer Giorgia Consiglio (2:05:57.400) and third went to China's Yanqiao Yang (2:05:57.100).
