Some of the groups behind the festival are The Gary Hall Jr. Foundation, The Race Club, BD, and The World Olympians Association. Americas Swim and Fitness Festival has a variety of swimming and fitness events planned. These include wet and dry events for adults and children.
- Swimming Events
- Disability swim
- 200 meter beginning swim
- 400 meter intermediate swim
- One mile advanced swim
- Americas Swim Relay - 4 teams of six swimmers each, 3 men and 3 women with one team member over 39 years old, racing head-to-head in the ocean to a bulkhead and back to the beach, short run up the beach to the next team member until all six have completed the relay.
- The Fitness Open - 7 minutes on a treadmill, followed by 7 minutes on a stationary bike, with the best time winning for men and women.
- Fitness Grand Prix - Five tasks to be completed one after the other, with the best final time winning for men and women categories. The tasks are a treadmill mile run, 10 push ups, 20 sit ups, jump rope 50 times, and shoot one basket.
- The Sunset 5km Run - A 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) race at sunset along the white sands of Miami Beach.
- The Beach Volleyball Challenge - A beach volleyball tournament among teams representing USA-based modeling agencies.
- The Fitness Duathlon - Climb one-half mile on a treadmill inclined to a 25% grade, then up a 30 foot climbing wall. The Best time wins.
