Very recently I visited my local swimming pool to observe two new swim clients of mine who regularly took part in group swimming lessons. To say I was shocked at the lack of interest from the swimming instructor would be an understatement. I am not willing to accept that she was having an off-day. There are many adults and children who are anxious, or have a fear of water and desperately want to learn to swim, and enjoy their swimming journey.
2007 ASCA World Clinic Keynote Speakers will be Mark Schubert, Eddie Reese, and
The Keynote Lecture at the American Swimming Coaches Association 2007 San Diego World Clinic on 5 September features three of the United States top swim coaches. Mark Schubert, Eddie Reese, and Jack Bauerle. This trio of coaches will lead the US Olympic Swimming Team into the Beijing Olympic Games in July of 2008. Coach Reese will be Head Coach of the Men’s Team, Coach Bauerle Head Coach of the Women’s Team and Coach Schubert is the USA National Team General Manager and Head Coach.
UK Coach Certificate Course Content Announced by British Swimming
Syllabus details for the first two levels of the British Swimming UKCC coaching qualifications are now available to view online. Available from January 2007, the syllabuses for Level One coaching courses in swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming and diving and Level Two courses in swimming, water polo and diving provide an outline of course content and key learning outcomes.
USA Swimming Names Coaching Staffs for Two International Swim Meets
USA Swimming has released the coaching staffs for two international swimming competitions in 2007. The events include the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the 2007 World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
