Sheryl Crow Aquatic Center Opens

Entertainer - singer - song writer - swimmer? Sheryl Crow helped her hometown of Kennett, Missouri raise funds to build a new aquatic center. Crow recalled her days growing up in Kennett, riding her bike to the swimming pool, and her time at swim meets. The old pool was in bad shape, and Sheryl Crow decided to do something about it. Through matching funds and additional fundraising, the new Sheryl Crow Aquatic Center was able to open over the 2005 Memorial day weekend. Funds were also raised to help revitalize downtown Kennett.

And just an observation - I think everyone knows that Lance Armstrong started his sporting career as a swimmer, then moved into triathlons, then into cycling. Looks like Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow both have swimming backgrounds. Small world...
