Dave Denniston and the NTAF Midwest/West Spinal Cord Injury Fund

Dave Is Taking A Few Supported Steps

By Mat Luebbers, About.com

Dave Denniston, 1999 NCAA Champion for Auburn University, and 2003 World Championship Team Member in the 200 Breaststroke, was on vacation in the mountains, sledding down some snow-covered slopes; Dave slid into a tree and damaged his spine.

The accident has left Dave, for the time being, without the use of his legs. This accident happened in 2005, and Dave is still on the path to recovery.

Dave is raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with his spinal cord injury. He lives in Carlsbad, California while he undergoes intensive rehab at Project Walk in Carlsbad. After attending Project Walk for only 5 months, Dave is excited to report that he has taken a few unassisted steps using the ballet bar for support.

Wishing you all the best, Dave!
