Preventing "teaching time & space" violation and interference: Teaching swimming, diving and other dry land sports with an element of health and safety risks to the participating novice learners.
- The aim: To provide and safeguard a safe, learning, teaching and instruction time & space, particularly in the teaching of sports carrying an element of risk-danger to life and safety of the participating novice learners taught individually or in groups-class setting e.g., water sports-swimming, diving and other dry land sport disciplines.
- The need for action: Particularly, in the councils and privately run LTS-Learn to Swim school programmes, teacher's "teaching time and space" is easily violated by the pool and LTS program operator, admin and management staff, parents and non participating public members etc., resulting in the distraction of a teacher's focus and attention from his/her novice learner participants-class under his/her instructions, which can have a fatal health and safety implications.
- Teaching time & space is sacred: The "teaching time & space" is a private, precious and sacred resource. During the duration of a class lesson (unless an Emergency Action Plan has been activated) nobody has the right, and nobody should be allowed to enter, distract, interrupt or cross the private a sacred "teaching time & space" zone of a teacher, whose sole focus and attention is dedicated to the education and safeguarding the lives, health & safety and the well-being of the human subjects under his/her protection.
- In summary: The violation, distraction, interruptions and interference of a teacher's "teaching time & space" should carry an offense status. i.e., breach of H & S -health and safety, invasion of a private, precious, sacred learning time & space, obstructing an opportunity and resource, is not acceptable.
