Olympian Eric Shanteau swam a pool record time of 2:10.84, stopping the clock nearly three seconds ahead of the next swimmer in the men's 200m breaststroke on the second day of swimming at the 2010 Columbus Grand Prix Swim Meet. Nick Thoman also lowered a pool record, swimming a time of 53.95 in the men's 100m backstroke.

The men's 50m free saw a heat loaded with talent, as USA Olympian Cullen Jones (New Brunswick, N.J.), Brazilian Olympian Cesar Cielo and Trinidad Olympian George Bovell faced off in the sprint event. Cielo got an early lead, and held on to it, getting his hand on the wall first with a time of 22.14. Jones was next in 22.50, edging Bovell by just .05, who finished in third.

Dagny Knutson (Minot, N.D.) dashed to the front of the women's 400m Individual Medley, leading the field for both the butterfly and backstroke legs of the race. However, on the third stroke of the event, Justine Mueller (Monroe, Mich.) surged to the front, opening a lead that couldn't be passed. Mueller won the event in 4:43.67, while Knutson took second in 4:44.90. Jasmine Tosky (Palo Alto, Calif.) was third in 4:46.96.

Chloe Sutton (Mission Viejo, Calif.) captured her third gold medal of the meet with a time of 4:08.53 in the women's 400m freestyle. Olympian Kate Ziegler (Great Falls, Va.), who owns the pool record in this event, was second in 4:12.56. Knutson was third in 4:17.42.

In the men's 400m IM, 2009 World Championship silver medalist Tyler Clary (Riverside, Calif.) cruised ahead of the crowd on the front half of the race. While Clary maintained the lead into the final leg to win in a time of 4:21.72, Todd Patrick chased Clary down on the final 100 meters to finish second in 4:22.27. Brennan Morris (Baltimore, Md.) rounded out the top three in 4:28.28.
