USA World Champ Swimmers - Brother/Sister Swimming Act

From

In the tradition of past American brother-sister swimming acts – like Lynn and Rick Collela and Shirley and Jack Babashoff – Aaron and Hayley Peirsol and Klete and Kalyn Keller will be competing for the United States at Worlds this year.

Hayley will swim the 800m free, while Aaron will swim in his signature backstroke events as well as the 400m medley relay. Klete will swim multiple events – the 200m free, the 400m free and the 800m free relay, and will also serve as an alternate on the 400m free relay. Kalyn will swim in the 10K open water race.

Hayley and Aaron already own a special piece of World Championships history as the only siblings to medal at the same meet – and on the same day, July 22, 2003.

“(Brothers and sisters competing on the same Worlds Team) is a testament to one or all of the following – good programs and coaching, good parents or talent,” said Hutchison, who has coached the Kukors sisters – Emily and Ariana – at King Aquatic Club in Washington. “I think it is a lot of each one of those things. Whatever it is, it's pretty impressive.”
