The United States Synchronized Swimming Team secured its spot at the 2008 Olympic Games today with a gold medal performance at the 2007 Pan American Games. Today's competition at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Park featured the Team Free event. For the first time in the history of the sport, the Pan American Games served as the Olympic Qualifier. Each participating country came to Brazil in search of a gold medal in order to solidify a trip to Beijing.

Team USA Synchronized Swimming Maintains Top Position at 2007 Pan Am Games
Team USA finished in the top position in the Team Tech routines, Canada was not far behind, and host country Brazil is in third. Scores from the Team Tech routines will be combined with Saturday's free routine scores to determine the 2007 Pan American Games Synchornized Swimming medalists.
