1956 - Hungary vs. USSR Semi-final Game - While the USSR was stopping the Hungarian revolution, the two nation's found themselves in a semi-finals match at the Olympics. The game was brutal, the water actually turned red from all of the blood spilled in the pool. The game was stopped with Hungary leading 4-0 when angry Hungarians in the crowd reacted to a punch from a Russian player. Hungary went on to win the gold. Over the years Hungary has dominated water polo, winning a medal at every games between 1928 and 1980. There is a documentary on the game, Freedom's Fury.
