Swimming to Antarctica by Lynne Cox
- Memoir about long-distance swimming that I just loved. Think of it often especially the way she swam with her hair pulled up to resemble a penguin so she could swim in cold frigid water.
- —Guest Carol Fitzgerald
A book of swimming
- This is a childrens puffin book dated 1946, by Janet Bassett-Lowke & Lunt Roberts. It has many coloured illustrations showing pre swim stretches and the new butterfly stroke using breastroke legs! Also the high elbow in front crawl is also demonstrated... something I thought was fairly new? Faulty actions such as too much roll and feet kicking sideways are shown as well as the backstroke open turn. Other swimming activities such as life saving, American aquacades, & water ballet make this 64 year old junior book my favourite.

Swimming Even Faster by Ernie Maglischo
- Ernie's work is a great piece of biomechanics and kinesiological explanation of swimming movements. He was a great coach to swim for and way ahead of his time.
