Who will go for the Polo Gold, Silver, and Bronze in Beiging

There are men's and women's water polo medals up for grabs in Beijing. Who will get them?

USA - Women

The USA women's team tops the world rankings, and for good reason. They are good! Expect them to be in the gold medal game in Beijing. The USA came in second in 2008 World League play, behind Russia. The USA is ranked #1 in the A group of the Olympic tournament.

Australia - Women

Number two in the world, Australia could easily claim the gold medal. They finished third in the 2008 World Polo League. Australia is ranked 4th - last - in the B group of the tournament.

Russia - Women

Ranked third in the world, Russia may get a medal. Will it be gold? They did win the 2008 World Polo League. Russia is #2 in the A group of the Olympic tournament.

Hungary - Women

Hungary is ranked #4 in the world, but #2 in the Olympic tournament's B group.

Croatia - Men

Ranked #1 in the world, the team from Croatia will be battling #2 ranked Hungary for the top spot. They did not play in the World League. They are #2 in the B group of the Olympic tournament.

Hungary - Men

Going for its third straight Olympic title, Hungary (ranked #2 in the world) is loaded and ready to shoot for the gold medal. Hungary did not play in the World League. They start at #3 in Group A of the Olympic tournament.

Spain - Men

Spain is ranked #3 in the world, and that puts them in-line for a spot on the medal stand in Beijing. They came in 5th in the World League, but are ranked #1 in the A Group of the Olympic tournament.

Serbia - Men

Serbia, ranked 4th in the world, is #1 in the Olympic Water Polo B Group, expect to see them make the medal rounds.

USA - Men

The men's team is ranked 9th in the world. If they want a medal, they have a fight on their hands to get one. The US team did come in 2nd in the 2008 World League. If the USA is to be in the hunt, it will probalby fall on the shoulders of Tony Azevedo.
