What was the medal count for Gold, Silver, or Bronze Olympic Swimming Medals at the 2012 London Olympic Games? Besides the competition between swimmers to earn Olympic gold, silver, and bronze medals, there is the overall contest within each sport and for the overall Olympic Games, to see which country can win the most Olympic medals.

You could even set-up a scoring system, with Olympic Gold being worth X-amount of points, Silver = Y-amount of points, and Bronze = Z-amount of points. I use 5 points for an Olympic Gold medal, 3 points for an Olympic Silver medal, and 1 point for an Olympic Bronze medal with relays counting double. 10-6-2.
