- Arizona (336.5) has a slim hold on 1st place, bumping
- Auburn (331.5) to 2nd due in part to Arizona's strong relay performances - first in both of them today. Reviewing the heat sheet for Day 3, it looks like nothing will be settled until the last event, with heat sheet potential points almost even between Arizona and Auburn. The rest of the top 10:
- Stanford 244.5
- Texas 220
- Florida 203
- California 182.5
- Southern Cal 157
- Northwestern 133.5
- Michigan 132
- Georgia 120
- Arizona's (1:23.88 - NCAA and US Open record) 200 medley relay gave them a quick boost towards Auburn in the point standings to start this session. Auburn (1:25.08) and Cal. Berkley (1:25.37) filled the other two top spots.
- Ryan Lochte (3:38.15 - NCAA record) from Florida continued to lay stake to a claim for swimmer of the meet in the 400 IM, with Ous Mellouli (3:39.47) from Southern Cal. following in second and Eric Shanteau (3:44.27) from Auburn in third.
- The 100 fly saw an Arizona 1-2, with Lyndon Ferns (45.89) and Albert Subirats (46.02) claiming the top two spots. Sam Masson (46.09) from Southern Cal. came in third.
- Another Arizona swimmer, Simon Burnett (1:31.20 - NCAA and US Open record) claimed the 200 free title. Peter Vanderkaay (1:33.31) from Michigan was second and Dominik Meichtry (1:33.75) from Cal. Berkley came in third.
- The 100 breast was won by Cal. Berkley's Henrique Barbosa (52.52) who came back just ahead of Indiana's Kevin Swander (52.54), followed by Dave Rollins (52.91) from Arizona. After this event, Arizona trailed Auburn by 1-point in the team race, 269.5-268.5.
- Matt Grevers (45.93) from Northwestern was top in the 100 backstroke, second went to Doug Van Wie (46.22) from Auburn and third went to Nich Thoman (46.67) from Arizona. Seeing a pattern here as Arizona (296.5) climbs up over Auburn (289.5) after this event?
- The 3-meter diving title was earned by Georgia's Chris Colwill (460.95). Arizona State's Joona Puhakka (413.05) was second, and Steven Segerlin (401.20) from Auburn finished in third. These are the same places these divers won on the 1-meter board! Auburn (305.5) is back in first with Arizona (296.5) scoring zero in the this diving event.
- The 800 free relay - the last event of the night. Arizona (6:16.67) came in first, Michigan (6:18.11) second, and Texas (6:19.61) took third, moving Arizona back to first place in the team race.
