This Hitachi camcorder is specially designed for underwater videotaping. It features a large 4" LCD screen so that swimmers can clearly see their underwater stroke while at the pool and immediately make corrections. It has a detachable, waterproof zoom lens that attaches to a long monopod so that the operator can sit on the deck, put just the lens underwater and videotape each swimmer. The camcorder comes with a one-year warranty from Hitachi.
The Somax Team Clinics are the only team clinics that come with a money-back guarantee: swimmers who take part in the clinic and practice the daily Somax drills will swim faster or their money will be refunded.
The four-day clinics teach swimmers to swim with the same efficient stroke as World Record holders. Each swimmer is videotaped underwater at the beginning of the clinic. Before they see their tape, they see an underwater tape of a World Record holder, whose stroke characteristics are measured frame-by-frame every 1/30th of a second. Then the same measurements are taken from the swimmers tapes. In this way, each swimmer can exactly see their stroke mistakes. Then, with the exclusive Somax drills, stretches and strength-training exercises, the instructor will teach the swimmers how to convert their stroke to that of a World Record holder.
Somax has been training swimmers with this program since 1987. Graduates have won 43 Gold Medals and set 11 World Records. Age group and senior swimmers have reduced their times 3-18%.
The fee for the four-day clinic is only $600 per swimmer, plus a one-time charge of $50 for a Powerbelt, the first training aid to increase the speed and advance the timing of hip rotation and undulation.
To be eligible for the free underwater camcorder, a team must register a minimum of forty team swimmers before July 15. Each clinic covers one stroke; there is a fifth clinic for starts and turns. Coaches and parents are taught the Somax system so that they can continue to videotape and teach the swimmers after the clinic.
